An important addition in the IRI Historical Gallery was of Allama Muhammad Iqbal Corner. This Corner was inaugurated by His Excellency Mamnoon Hussain, President, Islamic Republic of Pakistan on February 24, 2016. This has been established to recognize the contributions of Allama Muhammad Iqbal to the Nation. Moreover, it also reminds us that the proposal of Islamic Research Institute was given by Allama Muhammad Iqbal. The pictures and data files of the Gallery have been obtained with the help of Iqbal Academy, Lahore. Mr. Waleed Iqbal, grandson of Allama Muhammad Iqbal has personally helped IRI in provision of unique pictures and comments related to the life of Allama Muhammad Iqbal. Dr. Muhammad Hamidullah Library staff has digitized this data and it has been displayed in the IRI Gallery. President, Islamic Republic of Pakistan has spent 40 minutes in this Gallery and appreciated the efforts of IRI for the protection of the history of Pakistan.
