Islamic Research Institute (IRI) of International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) organized an exhibition of books and pictures of Allama Iqbal in connection with “Iqbal Day Celebrations” at Dr. Muhammad Hamidullah Library of the university.
The library is known for having rare books on Islamic sciences and is situated at the Faisal Masjid Campus of the university which amid exhibition was a source of gathering precious books in various languages on Iqbal’s various aspects of life, his works and his rare pictures.
Rector IIUI Dr. Masoom Yasinzai and President of the university Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh visited the exhibition and hailed the well-organized of the institute, while they also congratulated the IRI Director Dr. Muhammad Zia ul Haq on successful exhibition. Both IIUI Rector and President were accompanied by Vice President IIUI Dr. Muhammad Munir Khan, Deans, Executive Director IRD and other high officials of the university.
“Research on Iqbal’s works and youth’s introduction to his thoughts are significant aspects which must be top priority of educational institutions” said Dr. Masoom Yasinzai. He desired that same sort of exhibitions be conducted at the male and female campuses of the university. He added that the initiative will provide positive results as students would be able to explore the message of the great thinker.
Dr. Al-Draiweesh said that Allama Iqbal rightly identified the situation of Muslims and provided a pathway of their unity with a message to youth to change the fate of nation. He termed the exhibition as a productive initiative of the department.
Dr. Muhammad Zia ul Haq vowed that the institute will accordingly expand its activities as per desires of the varsity leadership. He told that the renovation project of worth 3 million at library will soon commence.
