Council of Islamic Research Institute (IRI) has approved new research Centers including Centre for Peace, Reconciliation and Reconstruction Studies; Center for Study of Islam, Democracy and Human Rights; and IRI Research Support Center (RSC).
This was decided in the 11 meeting of the Council of Islamic Research Institute (IRI) which was chaired by Prof. Dr. Ahmad Yousif A. Al-Draiweesh (President IIUI) in Professor Emeritus Zafar Ishaq Ansari Boardroom, Faisal Masjid Campus of the university.
During the meeting, matters and decisions pertaining to shape future policy of institute, current activities and important issues were discussed. Dr. Al Draiweesh appreciated the efforts of Director General of IRI, Dr. Zia ul Haq who he said was heading the IRI towards right direction with a great pace.
The meeting was attended by IRI Council Members including Mr. Justice Shahzado Sheikh (Ex-Judge, Federal Shariat Court), Mr. Justice (Retd) Fazal-UrRehman (Ex-Member, Election Commission of Pakistan), Ms. Batool Qureshi (Federal Secretary (Retd), Prof. Dr. Altaf G. Sheikh (Pro-Chancellor, ISRA University), Prof. Dr. S.M. Zaman (Ex-Director General, IRI/Former VicePresident (A&F) IIUI), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Munir (Vice President (AF&P) IIUI, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, (Director General IRI) and Dr. Hafiz Aftab Ahmad (Assistant Professor)/Secretary.
The proposal of nine new Writing Training Programmes and other initiatives were also appreciated and unanimously approved by the Members of the Council. During the session, Members of the Council also appreciated the efforts of the Director General, IRI for the development and uplifting of the Institute in various fields.
